Allie Gel UV ex SPF 50+ Review

If you're looking for your new kbeauty or jbeauty sunscreen, you'll want to keep reading! Today we'll be reviewing the Allie Gel UV ex SPF 50+ in-depth.

Allie Gel UV EX SPF 50+ PA++++

Quick facts:

Formulation: Fragrance-free, colorant-free, OMC-free and coral reef-safe

Texture: A thicker cream - takes a little while to blend out and absorb into the skin

Scent: If you're sensitive to scents, this is NOT for you. It's a fairly strong grandma/floral/baby powder scent.

Where to buy: YesStyle and Amazon (but I don't have a trusted seller I recommend)

Price: $23 - $29 USD

Main pros: Many online reviews have mentioned this is great for dry skin and I do find it's quite moisturizing. The sun protection seems to be pretty effective as well (I didn't even know there was a PA++++).

Cons: The smell really lingers. Even though I've used up most of this bottle already, every time I wear it I feel like I really just want to wash it off as soon as possible lol.

My verdict: 5/10. It does the job and is quite moisturizing, but nothing will beat the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF50+ PA++++ for me (I write about it on my all time favourites page here).

About the Allie Gel UV ex SPF 50+

OMC-free and coral reef-friendly, this mineral and chemical sun gel provides powerful UV protection of SPF 50+ and PA++++ to safeguard both your skin and the ocean. The sun gel claims to also prevent the adherence of fine particles on skin including pollen, dust, and pollutants. Infused with glycerin, the waterproof and smudge-free formula fends off sun rays without drying out skin. Sun gel spreads easily on skin and leaves a natural matte finish.

While it is quite a moisturizing formula, it can feel a little tacky or thick.

Again - I definitely recommend the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF50+ PA++++ over this.

What is Allie Gel UV EX SPF 50+Cream good for?

Many people agree that this product has changed. It’s no longer the watery and bouncy gel. The product has a more substantial cream-like, dense and buttery texture. It still absorbs quickly but feels heavier on the skin. Regardless, it has a pretty good-looking finish and is good for moisturizing + adding sun protection.

What are the benefits of Allie sunscreen?

Protects you from UVA and UVB. Serves as a Makeup Base (face primer) Feels comfortable on the skin. Resistant to water, sweat, and friction.

My Final Thoughts: Allie Gel UV ex SPF 50+ Review Verdict

In short, I will not be repurchasing this product, and it has not made it to my all-time favourites list. The texture is just not *it* for me. I will still use it up, but then will go back to my beloved SKIN1004 one after!

Let me know if you've found this review useful or if there's another product by Allie you'd like me to review, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
