NEW Skin Twin Beautycounter Foundation Review
If you're looking for a lightweight, skin-like foundation with feel-good ingredients, you'll want to keep reading! Today we'll be reviewing the Beautycounter Skin Twin Foundation in-depth. And rest assured, I'm not a Beautycounter consultant so this post is completely unbiased.

Quick facts:
Formulation: Free from parabens, phthalates, and synthetic fragrances. It is also vegan and cruelty-free.
Application: The foundation comes in a sleek, pump-style glass bottle for easy and hygienic application. Note: there is no locking mechanism for the pump so I don't advise traveling with this!
Scent: Fragrance-free
Where to buy: Beautycounter website, from one of their consultants, or my preference, Ulta.
Price: $52 USD
Main pros: The foundation offers a very natural, skin-like finish. It also doubles as a skincare product, featuring hydrating and anti-aging ingredients like hyaluronic acid and plant-based squalane. I love this foundation because it makes my skin look so healthy and hydrated all day without separating or looking greasy/cakey.
Cons: This is on the pricier side and because of that, I don't know if it would be an affordable every day foundation. And also, those with extremely oily skin might need to use a setting powder.
My verdict: 9/10 for a light-med coverage foundation. This foundation combines the benefits of makeup and skincare and you can honestly feel it when you're wearing it. It is making it onto my all-time favourites list as my HG foundation.
Beautycounter's Skin Twin Featherweight Foundation is described as providing "breathable, buildable coverage with hyaluronic acid to visibly plump the skin." The foundation is lightweight, sheer but buildable to medium coverage.
The highlight ingredient, hyaluronic acid, helps to retain moisture in the skin, making it look plumper, smoother, and more radiant. It's also known for its anti-aging properties, as it can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by plumping up the skin. I definitely notice that my combo/dry skin looks healthier, more radiant with this foundation, and it doesn't leave it looking dry at the end of the day (could be because of the jojoba esters in here as well).
But while this foundation looks really great combo/normal/dry skin, it's not meant to be a super long wearing foundation so I recommend using a primer with this, especially if you have oily skin.

Beautycounter Skin Twin Foundation shade range
Beautycounter Skin Twin Foundation comes in 27 shades ranging from Very Fair to Deep. They have a good selection of colors with warm, neutral and cool tones, but I'd have to say once you get into some of the deeper colors it becomes harder to find a good match - they tend to skew really warm,
How to apply the Skin Twin Foundation for best results
- Cleanse and lightly exfoliate with a toner and cotton round (or a reusable round).
- For combo skin, I recommend spraying with a light mineral water (no additional moisturizers) and then apply the Beautycounter priming serum (this feels so nice on the skin and also makes the foundation last longer).
- Apply foundation with a thin paddle-type foundation brush and pat in with a beauty sponge. You don't need much of this foundation at all, but it can be layered!
- If you are combo-oily or have oily skin, you may want to set this with a powder.
What Beautycounter products are worth it?
More reviews to come, especially on the concealer, blush and primer as well! So far, I really think the foundation, priming serum and select shades of the blushes are completely worth the money. Besides the fact that they have a few skincare ingredients in the makeup, they just perform and make your skin look super healthy!
My Final Thoughts: Beautycounter Foundation Review Verdict
In short, I love using this foundation and it's made my all-time favourites list. It's actually probably my HG foundation but the price point makes me not want to use it every single day haha. If that's not an issue for you though and you love sheer-medium skin like foundations, you have to try this one!
Where to Buy: Purchasing Your Beautycounter Foundation
I recommend buying it from Ulta if you're just wanting to try one or a few items. If you're interested in more of their products/their brand missions though I know the brand sells through consultants as well and you could find one in your city!
Let me know if you've found this review useful or if there's something by them you'd like me to review, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
