Peripera Ink Mood Matte Lipstick Review & Swatches

This year I've been really going out of my comfort zone with cheek and lip colors. I've been exploring more of kbeauty and asian makeup products in general because they tend to have more colors suited for asian skintones and alas, I came across these! Keep reading for the full Peripera Ink Mood Matte Lipstick Review. And rest assured, I paid for these myself so these are my honest thoughts as always.

Peripera Ink Mood Matte Lipsticks in 03 & 06 (Left to Right)

Quick facts:

Potential irritants: This product contains fragrance.

Application: Sheer to buildable. A metallic twist-up lipstick in a thicker plastic tube (pretty nice packaging!)

Where to buy: Various kbeauty retailers, I purchased from StyleVana

Price: $12.59 USD currently on StyleVana

Main pros: Overall I like the packaging (feels quite luxe) and the application/texture of these lipsticks. They're not super drying like most matte lipsticks out there and are pretty soft and comfortable on the lips.

Cons: The shade range is more on the vibrant (vs muted) end and it's a little bit hard to pick the right colors online. (If you're a spring, the #03 would look better for you.) I'm personally more of a summer so the #06 suits me better, but the color is a little too vibrant for me for everyday wear.

Verdict: 7/10. These did not make it onto my all-time favourites list.

About the Peripera Ink Mood Matte Lipsticks

Peripera is well known for their ink velvet lip tints but since I've been trying out the 3CE tints already, I thought to try these Ink Mood Matte Lipsticks instead. There are 13 shades total and I picked up 03 and 06 to swatch.

These lippies can cling to dry patches and flaky skin (I usually prep with MAC prep and prime lips). But unlike other matte lipsticks, this is more of a soft velvet matte texture when it sets. It has ok staying power and will transfer a little bit.

How to apply these Peripera lipsticks

  1. Prep your lips well before application with a lip scrub + lip balm. I prefer to use MAC lip prep & prime for matte lipsticks.
  2. Apply a thin layer (a little goes a long way) and blur out with your fingertips for a soft sweep of color or layer more for a bolder look.

Final thoughts

Sadly these didn't make it to my all-time favourites but I'll be updating that list with my favourite matte lippies! So stay tuned.
