La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ Review
If you're looking for a truly multipurpose skin care product, you'll want to keep reading! Today we'll be reviewing the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ in-depth.
Quick facts:
Formulation: Paraben-free, Fragrance-free, Oil-free, Alcohol-Free, Essential Oil-free Non-comedogenic and suitable for all skin types.
Texture: A thick (almost toothpastey) kind of cream, feels almost a little dry (not that many emollients in it)
Scent: Fragrance-free, the scent may be slightly medicinal due to the ingredients but it fades
Where to buy: It is temporarily out of stock on Amazon, but it is available on the official La Roche Posay website and Walmart.com (on sale for around $13)
Price: $15.99 USD for 40ML
Main pros: Great multi-purpose healing ointment/cream that really sets out to do what it is meant to do. It is soothing and adds a nice moisture to dry areas that are in deep need of extra love. You can use it for rough, cracked skin, dry skin irritations, chapped, chafed skin, diaper rash, and sensitive skin. It’s very delicate and it's great for children, from babies to toddlers, this cream is a great addition to your everyday cupboard or emergency kit. One of its standout features is the matte finish it leaves, without any greasy or sticky feeling.
Cons: May need to cut open the tube to squeeze last uses out. Some people complain about the thickness of the product (but it also depends on how and for what you will use it). And even though it dries down matte, it still feels a little tacky. May leave a white cast. Slightly pricier. Some have reported pilling but I dont typically use this for my face anyway.
My verdict: 9/10. This is has been a life saver for the back of my hands during this season change. I have been doing a lot of cleaning recently and my hands were so dry they were literally hurting. Just one application of this really relieves the pain and itching. I use this now literally on any super dry irritated skin areas. It's made it onto my all time favourites list!
Originally my husband had bought this for his eczema and this did not really help heal his condition, and I also didn't enjoy applying this to my face as it is on the thicker side, but I can see this being really helpful for anywhere else on the body that feels irritated! It's really gentle.

How to apply La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+
- Cleanse and dry the affected area of the skin.
- Apply La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5 as needed to the affected areas.
- Avoid applying the cream to the eye area
- The cream can be used on the body, face, hands, and lips. (I don't recommend using it on the face since it's quite thick, I recommend trying the La Roche Posay Toleriane Sensitive Fluide (review here) for face.
When Should I Use La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5?
Cicaplast Baume B5 can be used once or twice a day, day or night, on cleansed skin. Apply a generous layer to the body, hands or lips. It can also be applied to rough, cracked skin, diaper rash or sensitive skin that's prone to irritation and redness.
This is what the baume looks like blended into the skin. It's not greasy looking but you can definitely feel that there's moisturizer on it.
My Final Thoughts: La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ Review Verdict
In short, I love using this (if you can't already tell from the almost finished tube) and it's made my all-time favourites list along with the facial moisturizer I mentioned earlier.
