Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream Review
After receiving the Laneige minis birthday box from Sephora last winter, I was super excited to try out this cream. Surprisingly it doesn't have the best reviews on Makeup Alley, but I personally love the texture and feel of this.
Let's dive into the review!

Quick facts:
Makeup Alley Rating: 2.6/5 from 22 reviews (potentially for the old formulation)
INCIDecoder Ingredient Checker page for new Laneige formulation
Formulation: Alcohol-free, paraben-free and phthalates-free (but sadly, the formulation contains fragrance)
Potential irritants: Contains fragrance and other perfuming ingredients like Limonene and Citronellol which may cause irritation
Texture: A light-medium weight moisturizer with great spreadability, dry to normal skin may love this
Scent: Noticeable floral scent
Packaging: The moisturizer comes in a glass jar. Full size is 50ml. (I have the bday gift size from Sephora)
Where to purchase: (Canada) Laneige, Amazon, Stylevana, YesStyle (US) Laneige, Amazon, Kohls, Stylevana, YesStyle, Walmart
Price: $50.00 CAD / $38 USD *Depending on vendor
Main Pros: This is a very hydrating PM moisturizer for those with dry skin. I really enjoy the medium-weight texture, it's super spreadable and leaves skin with a glow. My skin is still moisturized and supple in the morning.
Main cons: The fragrance and potentially irritating ingredients is a huge con. Others on makeup alley have also mentioned this product broke them out. I'd definitely patch test prior to applying on your face. If you're worried about the fragrance - I would check out the Etude House Soon Jung 2x Barrier Cream - I love that one as a go-to moisturizer and have a review here.
About the Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream
The Laneige brand website notes that this is a deep hydration cream with Green Mineral Water to strengthen the skin barrier, so it stays healthy and strong for 24 hours.
Recommended for those with skin often feeling dry, or particularly tight after cleansing. It instantly moisturizes the skin and provides deep hydration that lasts all day long.
*This cream does a great job at hydrating the skin, but after investigating this 'Green Mineral Water' in the ingredient list, it's just listed as water (and there's also seawater in the formulation too).

According to INCIDecoder, the fragrance and the perfuming agents in here (like Limonene etc) are icky are common skin sensitizers and for that reason, I think there are gentler moisturizers out there in the market.

How to use:
- Cleanse and tone skin per usual
- Apply a dime-sized amount to skin AM or PM (I prefer this in PM as it's pretty hydrating and I still wake up with supple skin)
- Avoid direct contact with eye and lip areas
Summing up this Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream review
The texture of this moisturizer is so nice and it did a great job keeping my skin moisturized throughout the night. I personally had no adverse reactions to the fragrance and perfuming agents in the formulation - but this could be sensitizing to some.
As I mentioned above my favorite go-to moisturizer is still the Etude House Soon Jung 2x Barrier Cream, so if you have sensitive skin you can check out the review for that here!
