Main pros: Perfect for oily or combo skin, it gets into my pores and cleans without leaving skin feeling stripped. It also leaves a subtle glow after cleansing.

The Saccharomyces/Camellia Sinensis Leaf/Cladosiphonokamuranus/Rice Ferment Filtrate ingredient you see is a common key ingredient in Tatcha's skincare line (also in the Water Cream, Dewy Skin Cream and the Tatcha Eye Cream). It's trade named Hadasei- 3, or Tatcha's "superfluid of Japan’s three essential nutrients of Green Tea, Rice, and Algae ". The green tea is well known anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredient, rice for nourishment, and algae is claimed to help with hydration. The trio's fermentation process helps to break down the complex bio-molecules in the plants and helps to isolate the beneficial components for the skin.
According to INCIDecoder, most of the formulation is very low on the irritancy and comedogenicity scores, with the exception of alcohol and fragrance.

How to use
- Begin with wet hands and face.
- Squeeze a dime sized amount into palms and rub together to create a creamy foam.
- Gently massage the face avoiding the eye area and rinse thoroughly.
*Definitely avoid the eye area, and while the website notes that this is okay for daily use, IMO the luffa bits are too exfoliating to use frequently.
Does Tatcha Deep Cleanse remove makeup?
The Tatcha cleanser is good for dissolving light to medium coverage makeup (eye makeup excluded), but I typically still use this as the second step to my double cleansing routine.
Is the Tatcha cleanser good for acne?
While the Tatcha Deep Cleanse was proven to show improvement in the appearance of pores and reduction in excess oils (in their consumer study), I would not recommend this for acne-prone skin or if you have currently have acne or sensitive skin. The pieces of Luffa fruit are far too exfoliating and may irritate already sensitive skin. Additionally, the formula also contains fragrance and alcohol.
Is Tatcha Deep Cleanse worth it?
In my opinion, there's much more gentle and affordable cleansers than the Tatcha deep cleanse. For now, if you're looking for something reliable and trusty to help with clearing pores, check out the COSRX pH morning cleanser mentioned in my all time favourites list!
